Description
The Extensometer adds the capability of testing elastomeric materials such as rubber, vinyl, semi-rigid plastics, and plastic films to the EJA Vantage Universal Materials Tensile Tester.
Quick release clamps are ergonomically designed to allow one-handed operation for ease of specimen loading and operator safety. The clamping force is easily adjusted to control the pressure exerted on the sample. The extensometer is equipped with 2 independent optical encoders for increased accuracy and durability. A thumbscrew mechanism ensures accurate gage length adjustment.
The EJA Vantage interfaces directly with the extensometer and results are automatically displayed utilizing MAP4 software.
Features
- Quick release clamps
- Single-handed specimen loading
- Adjustable gage length
- Spring-adjustable clamping force
Operation
The extensometer clamps directly on the sample and provides elongations up to 914 mm (36 in). Quick release clamps are ergonomically designed to allow one handed operation to simplify specimen loading and ensure operator safety. The clamping force is easily adjusted to control the pressure exerted on the sample. The extensometer is equipped with 2 independent optical encoders for increased accuracy and durability. A thumbscrew mechanism ensures accurate gage length adjustment ranging from 10 mm to 50.8 mm (0.5 in to 2 in). The extensometer is capable of measuring samples that are 6.35 mm (0.25 in) thick and 16 mm (0.625 wide).
