Testing equipment for rigid plastics by Thwing-Albert includes:
The VantageNX Universal Testing Machine (UTM) can perform tests for tensile strength, elongation, tear strength, compressive strength, coefficient of friction, flexural strength and puncture resistance. A wide range of both standard and specialty grips and fixtures are available to meet specific testing criteria. Utilizing our MAP4 software materials testing software, test data is instantly analyzed and and result reported. A comprehensive library of test methods is provided to further facilitate the testing of rigid plastic materials in accordance to published test methods.
The QC-3A model by Thwing-Albert is a UTM with simple yet robust testing capabilities. This machine is best for coefficient of friction, peel analysis, compression and tensile testing, with the ability to apply up to 1,100 pounds of tensile or compressive force. The RS-232 interface allows technicians to download test data to a PC for additional data analysis and storage.
The FP-2260 tester can be configured to measure the static and kinetic coefficient of friction, tests for seal strength, and 180-degree, 90-degree and T-peel tests. This friction/peel tester is also designed with the operator in mind, with a large display screen. The adjustable crosshead and load cell simplify the test setup change process.
The tray peel fixture is designed to add to the capabilities of the FP-2260 friction and peel tester. It assists with measuring the seal strength of rigid plastic samples including medical device packaging and food packaging. Tray peel tests can often require holding the plastic at various angles and clamping the sample for testing.Â
The ProGage Thickness Tester measures the thickness of the rigid plastic sample. The precision micrometer uses a dual-speed pressure foot to perform up to 20 test cycles per minute for the highest degree of accuracy. Technicians can choose from several presets to meet the requirements of test standards from ASTM and ISO.
The package seal strength fixture is a powered clamping system to hold the rigid plastic sample on the VantageNX UTM. This fixture simulates real-world use in the consumer market to ensure various quality standards are met. The package seal strength fixture is used specifically for cup peel, seal removal, tray peel, lid removal and seal strength testing.
The TA3540 deflectometer reports highly accurate position and defection data for compression strength and flexural bend testing. It is designed for the MAP4 material testing software and can integrate with other test frames by Thwing-Albert. The magnetic base improves mounting for upside-down positioning.
