Cortador de Muestras para Rasgado Elmendorf

Thwing-Albert has many Elmendorf tear sample cutters for materials such as plastic films, nonwovens and paper. Some of the Elmendorf sample cutter options we have include:

240–7B Pneumatic Alfa Sample Cutter

The 240-7B Alfa sample cutter is air-operated automated equipment. It can quickly prepare paper, rubber, fabrics, foils, cardboard and plastics. It administers 7 tons of pressure, and we designed it to allow easy die-loading. It has a sample size of 10 inches by 10 inches and can be used for materials with standard and custom shapes. It can enable rapid sample preparation to increase productivity in the testing process.

Alfa Steel Rule Dies

The Alfa steel rule dies come in many shapes and sizes. The sample size depends on your Alfa cutter model and the linear inches on the cutting board. The standard die features are:

  • Board height: 19.2 mm (0.76 inch)
  • Blade height: 4.6 mm (0.18 inch)
  • Overall die height: 23.8 mm (0.94 inch)

You can request custom dies to cut squares and circles or unique shapes like dumbbells.

Elmendorf Tear Sample Cutter

The Elmendorf precision sample cutter (98-2000) rapidly prepares uniform samples for Elmendorf tear testing. Its double blades ensure tight sample control. It is suitable for nonwoven, paper, thin textiles, plastic film and foil, and its firm lever action makes it easy to operate.

This tear sample cutter has a parallelism tolerance of 0.0245 mm/-0 mm (+0.001 inch/-0 inch), a cut length of 152.4 mm (6 inches) and a width of 63 mm (2.48 inches).

Elmendorf Tear Constant Radius Template

The Elmendorf tear constant radius template (60-3004) is used to cut samples for the ProTear Elmendorf Tear Tester. This sample template meets the ASTM D1922 for propagation tear resistance and has a sample width of 63 mm (2.48 inches) and a length of 76 mm (3 inches).

You do it by placing the template on the sample facing down and using a straight blade to cut along the edge of the template. It does not cut the pretest slit.

Constant Radius Mallet Die Punch

The constant radius mallet die punch (60-1334) prepares constant radius samples for the Elmendorf tear testing. This handheld mallet dies sample cutter cuts samples by placing them underneath and using the mallet on the handle to prepare Elmendorf tear samples.

For optimal cut quality, use a 3-pound mallet hammer and a 1-inch thick HDPE cutting board with a durometer of no more than 76. You cannot use this die on the pretest slit.
